She’s the founder and director of Just Believe Fit and you may have already experienced one of Marisa’s lively classes, but did you know she has a life-long love affair with dance? What about her funniest teaching moment? Read on to find out.
When did you first fall in love with dance?
I was born dancing. It is part of who I am and how I express myself.
What is your favourite type of class and why?
I love all of the classes but Pilates Flow is an extension of myself. It feels so organic to be able to build and develop movement sequences that nourish every part of your body.
How did you get here – teaching, and founding and running the Just Believe Fit studio?
That’s a blog post all by itself!
What is your funniest teaching moment?
Breaking wind while rolling my butt on a tennis ball in the Blokeylates class. There was absolutely no-one else I could blame it on because it was so audible and so obviously me. Still laughing about it now.
What is your favourite post-class meal?
Brown rice with Asian stir-fried veg and tofu or pan-fried salmon with mashed potato and steamed veg. Yuuummmm.
And favourite snack?
Nuts, bananas and homemade bliss balls or banana bread. Coffee or chai with almond milk.
What is the biggest thing you have learned that has changed your life?
I can do anything I believe I can.
What is your personal mantra?
I have several…
I can do this
Always find the love and the light in whatever situation you find yourself
Treat others in the same way that you would like to be treated
